DANVERS – Miss. Kathryn M. Sample 76, of Danvers, died peacefully, April 24 th , 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late John Duncan and Mary Elizabeth (MacPhee) Sample. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School in Danvers. She continued her education at Salem State College earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education. Later in life she earned her Master's Degree from Lesly University.

Miss Sample had been employed for many years as an educator in the Haverhill School Department, teaching in the same grade and classroom for over 30 years at Tilton Elementary School; which was a true accomplishment and a source of great pride for Miss Sample. She was a beloved teacher and admired by her colleagues and students alike.

Kay had a true passion for quilting. She was a member of many quilting groups over the years and presented many of her creations at craft fairs and exhibitions. She often distributed her beautiful creations to her family and friends as gifts. Her talent in crafting was bountiful. Her needle and quilting work were stunning and award winning. But what she loved most about it was the joy her work brought to others. She was a long-time resident of the Town of Danvers and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Danvers. Kathryn travelled the world many times over and made friends across the continents. She had an exceptional passion and affinity for Prince Edward Island, Canada, where her family roots began and travelled there often. Upon meeting Kay, you became her friend for life. She will be remembered for her dedication to her profession and faith, her love of quilting and her ability to make others lives better.
