SALEM- Mrs. Laura Marie (Chadbourne) Parent 77, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Wilfred Parent, died Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House Surrounded by her loving family. Born in St. Johnsburry, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Gilpin) Chadbourne. She was raised and educated in Ipswich and was a graduate of Ipswich High School. Mrs. Parent served her country as a member of the Civil Air Patrol- Auxiliary United States Airforce. She began her professional career at the Lafayette Nursing Home in Marblehead as a Nurses Aid. She moved on to E.G & G. where she had been employed for many years as an assembler until the time of her retirement in 2004. A loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Laura was an over 50 year resident of the City of Salem. She enjoyed spending her time drawing, gardening and finishing puzzles. She liked to keep her mind active and was an avid reader. Above all else family always came first in her life. She was a devoted wife to her beloved Wilfred. She dedicated herself to him and his care and for many years during his illness he was able to remain home because of her kind and loving care. Her greatest memories came from time spent with her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren who were all special in her life. She will be deeply missed especially by her faithful canine companion Jasmine. Laura is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Archambault and her husband Daniel of Salem, her sons, Phillip Parent and his wife Jean of Danvers and Scott Parent and his fiancé Kimberly Butterfield of Salem, her grandchildren, Craig, Corey, Amber, Makayla, Morgan, Madison and Mariah, her great grandchildren, Christopher, Jameson and Delilah, her sister, Mary Hall of Rumney, N.H. and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lewellen Chadbourne.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held graveside in St. Mary's Cemetery, North St., Salem, Friday, Jan. 13th at 10 A.M.
