Obituary

WENHAM – Mr. Lenny G. Tipert, 78 of Wenham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at Beverly Hospital.

Born in Danvers, Lenny was the son of the late Gardner and Alice (Mullarkey) Tipert. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, class of 1963.

From an early age, Lenny learned the value of hard work and determination by working on The Tipert Farm in Danvers alongside his beloved family. A passion that turned into his career, Lenny took immense pride in being an avid horticulturist. From cultivating vegetables to flowers, maintaining the farm to fixing equipment, he could do it all and in so, was highly valued and respected in the local farming industry. Lenny not only was an avid sports fan, but a local sports hero in his own right during his storied days on the basketball court, the baseball diamond or on the football field at Danvers High. Throughout his life, Lenny acquired valuable skills through various vocations including engineering drafting, complimenting his passion for all things mechanical and invention. Lenny was a lifelong reader and never missed an opportunity to continue learning, taking a wide range of courses that enriched his life.

Above all else, Lenny was happiest when with his family, cheering on his grandchildren, attending their many sporting events and significant milestones they each accomplished. He will be greatly missed by his family and dear friends.

Lenny is survived by his former wife, Janice Tranos, children, Kimberly Tipert and her partner, Charles Noyes of Gloucester; Nicholas Tipert and his wife, Julie Shih of Southport, CT; Brett Tipert of Jersey City, NJ and Erin MacDowell and her husband, Rob of Rockport; his grandchildren, Charlie MacDowell, Sam MacDowell, Simone Tipert and Vivienne Tipert; his niece, Susan Sylvia and her husband, Rob and his nephew, Scott Burnham and his wife, Pattie. Lenny was the brother of the late Gail (Tipert) Burnham.
