SALEM-Mrs. Leona Claire (Levesque) Jodoin, 74 of Salem, beloved wife of Richard E. Jodoin, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Salem, Leona “Lee” was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Lavoie) Levesque. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School, was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and a proud Salem resident throughout her life. She married Richard “Dick” on May 20, 1972, and for the next 54 years they rarely spent a day apart.
Family was the center of Lee’s life. She found her greatest joy when surrounded by loved ones, especially watching her grandchildren grow and celebrating their accomplishments. She proudly attended every school event, game, art exhibit, dance recital, and musical performance she could, always cheering them on from the stands or from her car. Lee and Dick loved hosting family gatherings such as their annual Fourth of July and Easter parties, each with their own event: Washer-Toss Tourney and Egg Hunt. Amongst her many happy places a few surpass the others; Walt Disney World, the casino, and Point Sebago.
Lee dedicated much of her life to caring for others, especially children. She lovingly cared for many young ones in her home until they were old enough to attend school, and those who spent time under her care remember her warmth and kindness. One of her favorite traditions was going to lunch with her sisters, always bringing along the children for what became known as the beloved “Ladies’ Lunch.” Lee will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Surviving Lee, in addition to her devoted husband Dick, are her daughters and their families: Karen Estella and her husband Darrin and their children, Thomas and Caitlin; and Amy Schroeder and her husband Matthew and their children, Leo, Gwen, and Cole. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Auger, Lorraine Beauregard, Margaret Beauregard and her husband Paul, and Judith Drivas and her husband John, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Paul Levesque.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Lee’s funeral service which will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., Salem (at Salem Common) on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 11 AM.
