PEABODY- Mrs. Lois (McCormack) Anderson, 79 of Peabody formerly of Newbury, passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at home.
Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (Warren) McCormack. She was raised and educated in Youngstown, Ohio. Lois was a graduate of Fairview Park Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio, she earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Salem State College and her Masters of Education from Cambridge College. Mrs. Anderson had been employed for over forty years as a Nurse at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. During her career she held the title of Director of Nursing in the emergency Department at Anna Jaques and was instrumental in the founding of the Pre-Admission Surgical Department at the Hospital. Lois was a dedicated care giver who took great pride in providing comfort to those in her care. Her expertise and vision in nursing has allowed those in need of care to benefit immensely. A longtime resident of the Town of Newbury, Lois has been a resident of Brooksby Village in Peabody since 2007 and has made many new friends while residing there. Lois is survived by her daughter, Deborah Dalton of Amesbury, her son, Scott Anderson of Mississippi, her grandchildren, Laura and Wyatt Anderson and Stephanie McAniff and Ian Dalton, five great grandchildren, her sister Nancy McCormack of Jackson, Michigan and her brother, Paul McCormack of Adrian, Michigan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service which will be held in the Chapel at Brooksby Village, 300 Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody, Saturday, January 28, at 10 A.M. Following the service all are invited to a reception in the catering room, directly adjacent to the chapel. As requested visiting hours omitted. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Brooksby Village Benevolent Care Fund or to the Brooksby Village Student Scholarship, 100 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.
