Obituary

SALEM - Mrs. Louise L. (Christensen) Conway, 75 of Salem, beloved wife of Thomas Conway, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her loving family.

She was born, raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.

Lou had been employed for several years as an associate at Trader Joe's working in several of their locations. She had also been employed at New England Telephone and Telegraph Company and Bob-Kat Leather in their payroll department.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Lou's life was one filled with simple joys and cherished moments with her family. Her greatest joy came from her family and the time they spent together, boating, camping, and summer trips to Maine where they made many lasting memories seeking out waterfalls. Her vibrant personality, characterized by her bubbly and feisty demeanor, brought light and laughter into the lives of all who knew her. Lou was creative and had a passion for sewing and crafting. She loved Halloween and would dress up as a witch with a cauldron and transform her front hallway into such a spooky space that trick-or-treaters were sometimes scared to enter. An avid walker, she found solace in nature's beauty especially on the beaches of Ft. Meyers, FL, which held a special place in her heart. Lou enjoyed boating at Palmers Cove Yacht Club where she spent many days with her friends and family enjoying the water aboard Lou's Crew. She was a former member of the Salem Willow's Yacht Club, an associate member of the Christopher Columbus Society and an associate member of the Salem VFW Post #1524.  Lou leaves behind a legacy of love of family, kindness, laughter, mischief, and cherished moments that will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Surviving Louise, in addition to her husband Tom with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, are her children, Amie Diesenhaus and her husband, Scott of Hudson, MA and Christopher Conway of New Hampshire, her grandchildren, Brody Diesenhaus of Hudson, Thomas and Timothy Conway of Marblehead, her sister Valerie Palaski of Colorado, her brother, Scott Christensen of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Daniel Christensen.
