TOPSFIELD – Luella (Currier) Newton, age 96, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Masconomet Health Care Center. Married to the late Gordon Newton for over 58 years, she was the loving mother of five. Luella was born on October 20, 1925 in Haverhill, raised in North Andover and a graduate of Johnson High School. She resided in Topsfield for over sixty years and was employed by CBS Hytron in Lawrence, Centre Supermarket, and Sunny Lane Cleaners in Topsfield.

She was a member of the Topsfield Congregational Church, The Topsfield Grange, The Essex County Beekeepers Assoc., and the Essex Agriculture Society. Her hobbies included gardening, flower arranging, bowling, reading, and keeping daily journals.

She is survived by son Richard and Lisa Newton of Danvers, daughter Sandra and Robert Keller of Rowley, son Arthur and Linda Newton of Haverhill, daughter Mary Lou Horne of Boxford and son Robert and Dianne Newton of Georgetown. She was the loving grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of eleven. She was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS - Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 26th, 3 to 5 P.M. followed by a brief service. It will be held at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple Street, DANVERS, MA 01923. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Topsfield Firefighters Relief Association, Topsfield, MA 01983.
