SALEM – Mr. Manuel Peña, 81 of Salem, beloved husband of Martiza Dinora Vittini, died peacefully, Tuesday, December 31st, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Bani, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Betilio Vittini and Maria De la Cruz Peña. He was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic.
Mr. Peña had lived and worked in the Dominican for many years. Once he located to Salem, he worked as a dishwasher at The Grapevine and as a truck driver in the agricultural industry.
He immigrated to the United States in 1996 with his family, settling in Salem, making it his forever home. Manuel's work ethic extended its way to the home where he was an exceptional family man. He always made sure everyone was well taken care of. He loved listening to Mexican music and playing dominos. Manuel also was fond of softball, always making sure keep active. Mr. Peña's life was a testament to love, hard work, and dedication. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and profound impact on those around him.
Survived by Manuel, in addition to his loving wife Martiza, are his children, Jose Peña of New Jersey, Yorguin Peña of Lynn, Digna Peña of New York, Geovanny Pena of Salem, Maylenni Peña of Boston and Giselli Peña of Boston, he also leaves behind his 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Manuel's Funeral Service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Friday, January 3rd at 12 PM. SALEM – El Sr. Manuel Peña, de 81 años de Salem, amado esposo de Martiza Dinora Vittini, murió pacíficamente el martes 31 de diciembre de 2024 en su casa rodeado de su familia.
Nacido en Baní, República Dominicana, era hijo de los fallecidos Betilio Vittini y María De la Cruz Peña. Fue criado y educado en la República Dominicana.
El Sr. Peña había vivido y trabajado en República Dominicana durante muchos años. Una vez que se instaló en Salem, trabajó como lavaplatos en The Grapevine y como conductor de camiones en la industria agrícola.
Emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1996 con su familia y se estableció en Salem, convirtiéndolo en su hogar para siempre. La ética de trabajo de Manuel se extendió a su hogar, donde era un hombre de familia excepcional. Siempre se aseguraba de que todos estuvieran bien atendidos. Amaba escuchar música mexicana y jugar dominó. A Manuel también le gustaba el softbol y siempre se aseguraba de mantenerse activo. La vida del Sr. Peña fue un testimonio de amor, trabajo duro y dedicación. Siempre será recordado por su bondad, generosidad y profundo impacto en quienes lo rodeaban.
A Manuel le sobreviven, además de su amada esposa Martiza, sus hijos José Peña de Nueva Jersey, Yorguin Peña de Lynn, Digna Peña de Nueva York, Geovanny Peña de Salem, Maylenni Peña de Boston y Giselli Peña de Boston. También deja atrás a sus 16 nietos y 18 bisnietos.
