DANVERS – Margaret E. (Agnoletti) Koptuck, 98, a resident of Danvers since 1959, passed away on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, at Hathorne Hill in Danvers. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony E. Koptuck with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on August 30th, 1925, to the late Ferdinand Agnoletti and Teresa (Pasquini) Agnoletti, she was raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School in 1943 and Salem Commercial School in 1944. After working in the office of Dr. Austin T. Williams for two years, she began her 42-year career at the Salem Savings Bank (now Eastern Bank) where she served as secretary to three consecutive bank presidents before retiring in 1988.
She was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed jazz and music of the 40's, dancing, solving crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble.
She is survived by two nieces: Geraldine T. Jervah and her husband, David of Groveland; and Patricia Johanson and her husband, Robert of Salisbury; and four nephews: Roger W. Powers and his wife, Renate of Danvers; Aldo A. Agnoletti of Melrose; Paul Doherty of Wakefield; and John Doherty of Reading as well as two grandnephews, three grandnieces, five great-grandnephews and five great-grandnieces, two great-great grandnephews and one great-great grandniece.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony, her only brother, Aldo Agnoletti and his wife, Mary; her only sister, Josephine T. Powers and her husband, William E. Powers; two nephews, Philip and William Agnoletti, her sisters-in-law, Blanche V. Koptuck and Freda Doherty, and her two beautiful golden retrievers, Jason and Spencer, whom she absolutely adored.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Monday, July 15th at 11 A.M. Burial to follow in North Beverly Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held prior to her service from 10 to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to the MSPCA, P.O.
