DANVERS – Margaret (Dandurand) Keyes, 95, of Danvers, formerly of Boxford, died on April 18, 2025, in Danvers, comforted by the love of her family. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Keyes, Sr., with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.
Born in Burlington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Cecelia (Lonergan) Dandurand. She grew up in Southbridge and graduated from the Mary E. Wells High School before earning an associate's degree at Lasell Junior College.
While raising four children with her husband, Margaret kept the household running smoothly with her organized and practical nature. She enjoyed baking, especially pies and chocolate chip cookies, which were a staple at family gatherings. Margaret was an avid reader throughout her life, you could find her with a book in any rare free moment during the day. Time spent with her children and grandchildren meant the most to her, whether at home or at the family's lake house in New Hampshire.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by her sister Judith Ducheneau.
She is survived by her children, Bob Keyes, Jr. and his wife Terry of Mill Valley, CA; Sarah Claflin and her husband Paul of Newburyport; Marty Jaxheimer and her husband Eric of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and Mary Ellen Wells and her husband Greg of Wyomissing, PA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren—Jennifer, Christine, Michael, Katie, Amy, Sarah, Meghan, Corey, Brian, and Abby—and thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: After a private family viewing at O'Donnell Funeral Home, there will be a graveside service held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at New Notre Dame Cemetery (N Woodstock Rd, Southbridge) Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS.
