Obituary

BROOKSVILLE, FL - Margaret M. Pashby, 93 of Brooksville, FL, passed away peacefully at home in Brooksville, Florida on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Born in Lynn, Margaret was the daughter of the late John and Rebecca (Sullivan) Pashby. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John F. Pashby and Charles Pashby, and by her sisters, Frances (Pashby) Scoledge and Sr. Agnes Pashby, S.N.D.

Margaret was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lynn. She continued her education at Emmanuel College where she was active in the Choral and Dramatic Societies.

Margaret trained as a medical laboratory technologist at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles and worked most of her career as a bacteriologist in the Microbiology Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Her attention to detail and her strong work ethic set her apart in her field.

A loving daughter, sister and aunt, family was very important to Margaret. She found great joy in being involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews, sharing their milestones and was very proud of their many accomplishments. As a young woman she was very adventurous and enjoyed traveling abroad and domestically, one time taking an ocean liner to Spain. Her hobbies were pastel portrait painting, choral singing, and working on genealogy. Margaret may have been on the quiet side but was equipped with a wry, great sense of humor that endeared her to many.
