SALEM – La Sra. María García de Santos, de 93 años, residente de Salem y amada esposa del difunto Manuel Santos, falleció pacíficamente el sábado 28 de febrero de 2026 en la comodidad del hogar de su hija, rodeada de su querida familia.
Nacida en La Vega, República Dominicana, María era hija de los difuntos Juan Luis Suriel y Alejandrina García. Se crio y educó en la República Dominicana, donde vivió hasta finales de sus 70 años, antes de mudarse a Estados Unidos para estar con su familia.
María dedicó su vida a criar a su familia. Le encantaba cocinar y mantener un hogar acogedor. Era una mujer de profunda fe, le encantaba cantar, especialmente en la iglesia, y orar por los enfermos y moribundos. Todos quienes la conocieron y amaron la extrañarán profundamente.
A María le sobreviven sus hijos: Dulce Santos, de Salem; Dionisio Santos y su esposa, Arelis, de Salem; Vinicio Santos y su esposa, Miledys, de Salem; Máximo Santos y su esposa, Jirian, de Boston; Rafael Santos y su esposa, Santa, de Boston; y Alejandrina Santos y su esposo, Sandy, de Lynn; y numerosos nietos y bisnietos. Además de sus queridos padres, a María le precedió en la muerte su amado esposo, Manuel Santos.
ARREGLOS: Se invita a familiares y amigos a la misa funeral de María, que se celebrará en la Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción, ubicada en 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, el viernes 6 de marzo a las 10:00 a. m., y posteriormente el entierro se realizará en el Cementerio Greenlawn, también de Salem. El velorio se llevará a cabo en O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, ubicado en 84 Washington Sq., (en Salem Common), SALEM, el jueves 5 de marzo de 4:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. SALEM – Mrs. Maria Garcia de Santos, 93 of Salem and the loving wife of the late Manuel Santos passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in the comfort of her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, Maria was the daughter of the late Juan Luis Suriel and Alejandrina Garcia. She was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and lived there until her late 70’s before moving to be with family in the United States.
Maria devoted her life to raising her family. She loved cooking and keeping a welcoming home. She was a woman of deep faith, loved singing, especially at church and praying for the sick and dying. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Maria is survived by her children, Dulce Santos of Salem, Dionisio Santos and his wife, Arelis of Salem, Vinicio Santos and his wife, Miledys of Salem, Maximo Santos and his wife, Jirian of Boston, Rafael Santos and his wife, Santa of Boston and Alejandrina Santos and her husband, Sandy of Lynn and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her beloved parents, Maria was predeceased by her loving husband, Manuel Santos.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Maria’s funeral Mass which will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem on Friday, March 6th at 10 A.M. with her burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Thursday, March 5th from 4 to 8 P.M.
