DANVERS – Marie A. (Lamoureaux) Heaphy, 81, loving wife of the late Charles R. Heaphy, passed away peacefully in Weymouth on June 27, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Miami, FL she was the daughter of the late John F. and Evelyn (Polemenako) Lamoureaux.
Marie was raised and educated in Salem, graduating from Salem High School before going on to earn her Bachelor's degree from Salem State University. She built a distinguished career with the Federal Government, serving for many years as a Social Security Claims Representative, work that reflected her lifelong dedication to helping others.
A warm and loving presence to all who knew her, Marie was a devoted mother and grandmother whose generous spirit extended well beyond her family. She had a gift for creativity, spending many cherished hours painting landscapes and scenic vistas, and delighting in the classes that deepened her craft. Sewing was another quiet pleasure she returned to often. Her faith was a meaningful part of her life, and she was active in her church community throughout the years. Marie had a deep commitment to service as well, volunteering with various organizations and, in her retirement, giving her time and warmth to the Senior Center. Some of her most treasured memories were made being surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
In addition to her parents, Marie is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Charles R. Heaphy.
Marie is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jeanine Hopkins and her husband Brian of Weymouth; her son Charles W. MacKinnon and his wife Mayette of Hooksett, NH. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Brian, Charles, Felicia, Ryan, and Crystal, and her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Lucas, and Shelbee.
