BOXFORD – Mrs. Marie (Kirby) MacDonald 76, of Boxford, formerly of Lynn, wife of the late William Francis MacDonald, died peacefully, September 1st, 2024 at her home.

Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Ballam) Kirby. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School. A longtime resident of the City of Lynn, Marie moved to Boxford in 2016 where she has since resided.

Mrs. MacDonald had been employed for 30+ years with the City of Lynn Board of Health. She rose through the ranks of the department until the time of her retirement in 2011.

Marie was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She supported her sons and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. She spent countless hours at hockey rinks all over the North Shore cheering on her sons. She found her greatest role upon becoming a grandmother and relished every second spent with her beloved grandkids. She especially treasured time spent at her camp in Stoddard, NH, creating forever memories. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family.

Marie is survived by her sons, Kevin MacDonald and his wife, Jessica (Donegan) MacDonald of Boxford and Keith MacDonald of Canal Winchester, Ohio, her beloved grandchildren, Scarlett, Liam and Declan MacDonald, her sisters, Patricia, Betty, Donna, Linda and Joanne and several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was the mother-in-law of the late Michelle (Henry) MacDonald.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to join together to celebrate Marie's life at Gannon Golf Course, 60 Great Woods Road., Lynn, MA on Sunday, September 8th from 2 to 6 PM.
