IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion
Clark
November 30, 1920 – November 30, 2024
PEABODY – Miss Marion Clark, 103, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn and Saugus, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at her longtime residence of Brooksby Village.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Katharine A. (Stahl) Clark. She was raised and educated in Lynn and began studying business courses her junior year. Once graduating, Marion went to Bryant & Stratton Business School in Boston on a Hawkes Peace Prize scholarship, where she gained a secretarial degree.
Miss Clark spent her professional career as executive secretary at the General Electric Company in Lynn. She had been associated with the GE for 46 years until the time of her retirement in 1986.
Marion dedicated her life to playing and studying the cello. She began in junior high when Breed Junior High's school orchestra needed a cello player and she volunteered. She was a charter member and cellist of the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra for 60 years, and led the cello section for 20 of those years. Marion played her last concert November 4, 2007, but the music always stayed in her heart.
Along with being musically inclined, Marion had various other hobbies that she took great pleasure in. She was an active member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Lynn. Traveling was a big portion of her life; most interesting being a musical tour of Europe where she visited Denmark, Finland, Russia, Germany, England and Scotland. As a huge Boston Red Sox fan, she would actively watch her team play on and off the field. Among her quieter delights, Marion enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, needlework, trivia and genealogy. She never passed up an opportunity to be with family; her vibrant soul will be incredibly missed.
Survived by Marion is her brother, George Everett of Concord, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Marion is predeceased by her sisters, Katherine "Kitty" Loring and Bertha Tyrell, and her brother, Eugene Clark.
