(D'Entremont) Hodge
January 7, 1923 – October 21, 2022
IPSWICH – Marion L. (D'Entremont) Hodge, 99, of Ipswich, formerly of Salem, Peabody, and Danvers, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Hodge to whom she was married for almost 76 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Wallace V. D'Entremont and Lena E. (Shaw) D'Entremont. She lived in Salem for most of her life and graduated from Salem High School in 1940. After graduation she attended Marian Court Secretarial School in Swampscott and worked at the United Shoe Corporation until her marriage in 1945.
Her late husband, grandchildren, and she were avid skiers and enjoyed skiing all over New England, the Rockies, and Austria. She loved skiing so much that she skied into her 70s. She enjoyed traveling as well, especially on Royal Caribbean Cruises. She was a social member of the Boston Yacht Club and the Wenham Golf Club for many years.
Her favorite times, however, were spent in the company of her adoring family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren have very fond memories of summers at Mousam Lake in Maine.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Osborne and her husband Ernie Osborne of Minden, Nevada, and Nancy Lynch and her husband Edward Lynch of Ipswich. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Leigh-Ann Osborne and her husband Darin Witt of Carson City, Nevada, Briana Lynch-Haddad and her husband Dave Haddad of Danvers, and Corinna Osborne and her husband Michael Garipay of South Lake Tahoe, California. She also leaves three great grandchildren, Emma and Gavin Osborne of South Lake Tahoe, California, and Sophie Haddad of Danvers. She was predeceased by her grandson Gregory Osborne and her sisters Ruth Danjou and Esther Gardner.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common), SALEM, on Tuesday, November 1st from 9 to 10:30 AM. followed by her funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
