BOXFORD- Mrs. Marjorie Flint Alley White 87, of Boxford, beloved wife of the late Harold A. White, died Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016. Born in Andover, she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Ruth (Farnham) Alley. She was raised and educated in Andover and attended schools in Massachusetts and New Jersey. Mrs. White had been employed with the Boxford Elementary School System in the cafeteria and served as Director of Food Services for 7 years until the time of her retirement in 1990. A longtime resident of the Town of Boxford, Marjorie was a member of the Second Congregational Church of West Boxford and was one of two women to be the first female deaconess to serve communion in that church. She also volunteered her time teaching Sunday school and was President of the Ladies Charitable Society. She was a member of the Boxford Garden Club and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Boxford Council on Aging. She was a Girl Scout leader and town chairman of the Girl Scouts of America. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Carolyn White of Laconia, N.H. and her son, Arthur White and his wife Joyce of Peabody, her grandsons, Thomas White of Reading and Timothy White of Haverhill, her sister Virginia A. Zahn of Virginia and one niece.
