PEABODY – Marjorie R. Ames, of Brooksby Village, Peabody, formerly of Acton, and the beloved wife of the late Frank Harvey Ames Jr., passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026. She was 99 years old.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late David A. and Marguerite (LeFevre) Ramage. She was raised and educated in New Jersey, where she graduated from Belleville High School.

Marjorie was employed for many years with the Bell Telephone Company in Newark and most recently as a secretary at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. She was also very active in many community organizations, including the League of Women Voters, Sweet Adelines, of which she was a member for over 40 years until 2008, the Acton Unit of the Salvation Army, and a member of the Acton Congregational Church.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Anne Ames of Acton, MA, her sons, Frank Harvey Ames III (Kathy Conklin Ames) of Bruceton Mills, WV, and David Ramage Ames of Newton Center, MA, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Robin Ames and sister of the late Elizabeth Westlake.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her graveside funeral service will be private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS.
