Obituary

MIDDLETON - After a full life of 95 years filled with love, Martha F Fucarile (Rowell) passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2024.  Born in Middleton on February 14th, 1929, to the late Elliott and Edith (Wedge) Rowell.  Martha was predeceased by her brother, Elliott Rowell Jr and is survived by her "baby brother" H. Edward Rowell of Salem NH.  Martha graduated from Danvers High School and then followed her passion of mastering needlecrafts when she attended seamstress classes at Essex Agricultural Institute as a young woman.

Martha was predeceased by her husband, William Ogden and their eldest son, William Ogden Jr.  She is survived by their four children and spouses, Edward and Candy Ogden of Middleton MA, David and Aline Ogden of Middleton MA, Sheila and Richard Glover of Exeter NH and Sharon and John Ferraro of Middleton MA.

Martha retired from her job as a lab technician at USM Bostik in Middleton after a career that spanned 27 years.  It is here that Martha would find the love of her life and eventually share 22 years of marriage with the late A. Edward Fucarile of Woburn MA.  With this union, Martha gained and is survived by two stepsons and their spouses, Edward and Andrea Fucarile of Pelham NH and David and Carole Fucarile of Ashland NH.  Martha shared many friends, years of laughter, and waltzes with her husband Ed, but their greatest joy came from the time and memories they shared with their cherished 14 grandchildren.

Martha was a master of needle crafts.  She was a member of the Burlington Quilters Association and the Essex County Needle Craft Guild.  Many of her quilts were proudly displayed in the annual quilt exhibition at the Topsfield Fair.  Martha was a talented and ambitious seamstress sewing many special pieces for family and handcrafting all her late husband's Aleppo clown costumes.  However, Martha's greatest crafting passion was knitting countless baby sweaters, hats, and mittens for her 22 great grandchildren.

After her husband's passing, Martha became quite active at the Middleton Council on Aging where she formed many precious friendships.   Martha is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
