GEORGETOWN - Mrs. Mary A. (Hunt) Ginn, 77 of Georgetown, beloved wife of Phil L. Ginn, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16th, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with Phil by her side.
Born in Newton, MA, Mary was the daughter of the late Lester and Eileen (Cavanaugh) Hunt. She was raised and educated in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School. Mary continued her education and received her associate degree in Accounting from Bentley University.
Mary began her long and successful career in accounting at an Advertising agency and later transitioned to the Insurance industry and more specifically, sports insurance. Mary spent more than 30 years in the industry where she was known for her strong work ethic and impeccable attention to detail.
Mary found great joy in the art of quilting, spending countless hours creating beautiful quilts to gift to her family and friends. She was an active member of the 7 Sisters Quilting Group, where she shared her passion with fellow enthusiasts. The time, detail and love that Mary put into each quilt; she truly gave a part of her spirit with each quilt she gave to others. Mary loved to read and expand her knowledge. She was an avid reader and belonged to a book club with other like-minded ladies who would share their thoughts on many subjects for over 10 years making many lasting friendships. Mary also had an immense love for nature and found solace in the great outdoors. She spent her summers camping in New Hampshire and Vermont, where she'd go hiking and birdwatching. In the winter, Mary was a dedicated skier, she and Phil made many ski trips throughout the states. One of her favorite locations was Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Mary was a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, who will be deeply missed. Her loving family and many friends will forever carry on her spirit in their hearts and memories.
Surviving Mary, in addition to her husband Phil, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage, is her sister Judy Leavitt and her husband David of Falmouth, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Mary was also the sister of the late Robert Hunt.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Mary's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11 A.M.
