MARBLEHEAD – Mary (Moulison) Reintges, a longtime resident of Marblehead and beloved wife of the late Robert Reintges, died peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on April 25th, 2026.

Born in Salem 94 years ago, Mary attended St Mary's School and St. James High School. She raised her family in Marblehead and was a parishioner at Star of the Sea Church and volunteer leader and president of the Star of the Sea Mothers Club and Bazaar. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Harbor Women's Club for 52 years.

Mary enjoyed bowling. She never missed a game in over 40 years of league competition, until the night that she was being honored for her perfect attendance - she couldn't attend! Her love of travel and playing the piano were next in line.

She was proud to call herself a Bonafide member of the "Kielbasa Club", a club started by five couples, all dear friends, that gathered and created years of good times together.

Mary was not afraid to chase her dreams. An avid and skilled dancer, as a young woman, Mary's tap dancing was featured on the radio to entertain the soldiers. In her 20's, she pursued her wildest dream by applying for an audition with the Radio City Rockettes. Unfortunately, she was two inches shy (5' 4") of eligibility. Her love of dance continued by teaching ballroom dancing to many Marblehead "townies" on Friday nights at the Hobbs Memorial. Can you still hear Mrs. Reintges call out, "Walk, walk, slide together, slide together..."?

Mitchell's Dance Studio in Beverly provided Mary with years of dancing and performing. In the 1990s, she became a member of "Senior Moments Tap Dancers", which she loved being a part of. Her husband Bob was Mary's lifetime dance partner. They were not only in synch during their 59 years of marriage but on every dance floor they ever stepped onto.

Mary had a rich, full life. She was a good-hearted woman, full of good cheer that sustained her and the many people she befriended over the years. Those lucky enough to know Mary loved and appreciated her. A quote describing Mary that has been repeated by many: "Mary is one of the most positive people I have ever met."

Mary is survived by her son, Rob (Nan) Reintges of West Virginia and his children, Hilary, Spencer and Piper; and daughter Debi (Curt) Cournale and children, Caitlyn and Nicole. Mary had the "surprise of her life" last year on Christmas Eve when Caitlyn traveled from New Mexico to surprise and introduce her to her first great grandchild, seven-week-old Tulsi. She was elated to experience four generations of females that started with her.

A special thanks to all of Mary's friends and the staff at Brightview where she happily enjoyed four years in that loving community. Also, thank you to the caring and warm staff at Kaplan Family Hospice House who looked after her during her final weeks.
