Miriam Amparo Diaz de Brea

SALEM - Con profundo pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Miriam Amparo Díaz de Brea, quien nació el 4 de julio de 1936 en Baní, República Dominicana.

Hija de los ya fallecidos Juana María Arias Díaz y Manuel Enrique Díaz, Miriam creció y se educó en su querida ciudad natal de Baní, donde también formó las bases de la familia que tanto amó.

El 19 de noviembre de 1989, Miriam emigró a los Estados Unidos en busca de un mejor futuro para ella y su familia, estableciéndose en la ciudad de Salem, Massachusetts, donde continuó construyendo su legado con amor y dedicación.

Miriam compartió 66 años de matrimonio con su amado esposo, el fallecido Rafael Brea, junto a quien construyó una hermosa familia. Fue una madre dedicada y amorosa de ocho hijos: Norma, Marisol, Rafael Esteban, Manuel Dionisio, y su querida hija Sinthia, con quien vivía y quien la cuidó con amor y dedicación, así como de los fallecidos Franklin Bienvenido, Griselda Marisol y Luis Humberto.

Ella es sobrevivida por sus hijos: Norma y su esposo Francisco, de Florida; Marisol, de Carolina del Norte; Rafael Esteban y su esposa Milagros, de Salem, MA; Manuel Dionisio y su esposa Altagracia, de Salem, MA; y su querida hija Sinthia.

La Sra. Díaz de Brea trabajó durante muchos años en el Salem Hospital, en la división de limpieza, hasta el momento de su jubilación.

Miriam y su esposo disfrutaban visitar con frecuencia su pueblo natal de Baní, donde pasaban tiempo en el patio de su hogar, sentados bajo el árbol de aguacate, recibiendo con alegría a familiares y amigos.

Además, deja un legado de amor en sus nietos. Luzmelix, Andrison y Andrew, quienes tuvieron el privilegio de vivir con ella hasta sus últimos días y de escuchar sus historias, las cuales quedarán para siempre en sus corazones. También le sobreviven sus otros nietos: Rafael Junior, Maciel, Ysaura, Alejandra y Dionis.

Miriam será recordada por su alegría y sus pasatiempos favoritos, como jugar bingo, disfrutar de los “scratch tickets” y, sobre todo, cocinar con amor para su familia.

Su memoria vivirá por siempre en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla y amarla.

SALEM — With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Miriam Amparo Díaz de Brea, who was born on July 4, 1936, in Baní, Dominican Republic.

The daughter of the late Juana María Arias Díaz and Manuel Enrique Díaz, Miriam grew up and received her education in her beloved hometown of Baní, DR, where she also laid the foundations for the family she cherished so deeply.

On November 19th, 1989, Miriam immigrated to the United States in search of a better future for herself and her family, settling in the city of Salem, Massachusetts, where she continued to build her legacy with love and dedication. Salem became her forever home.

Miriam shared 66 years of marriage with her beloved husband, the late Rafael Brea, with whom she built a beautiful family. She was a dedicated and loving mother to eight children: Norma, Marisol, Rafael Esteban, Manuel Dionisio, and her cherished daughter Sinthia—with whom she lived and who cared for her with love and devotion—as well as her late children, Franklin Bienvenido, Griselda Marisol, and Luis Humberto.

She is survived by her children: Norma and her husband, Francisco, of Florida; Marisol, of North Carolina; Rafael Esteban and his wife, Milagros, of Salem, MA; Manuel Dionisio and his wife, Altagracia, of Salem, MA; and her beloved daughter Sinthia.

Mrs. Díaz de Brea had been employed for many years at Salem Hospital in the housekeeping division until the time of her retirement.

Miriam and her husband enjoyed frequently visiting their hometown of Baní, DR where they would spend time in their backyard, sitting beneath the avocado tree, joyfully welcoming family and friends

Furthermore, she leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Luzmelix, Andrison, and Andrew—who had the privilege of living with her until her final days and of listening to her stories, which will remain forever in their hearts. She is also survived by her addtional grandchildren: Rafael Junior, Maciel, Ysaura, Alejandra, and Dionis.

Miriam will be remembered for her joyful spirit and her favorite pastimes, such as playing bingo, enjoying scratch tickets, and, above all, cooking with love for her family. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
