IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Ann
(Beckett) Amero
November 4, 1938 – February 21, 2024
SWAMPSCOTT – Ms. Nancy Ann (Beckett) Amero, 85, of Swampscott, formerly of Gloucester, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at Beverly Hospital.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Frederick M. and Bertha (Hicks) Beckett. She was raised and educated in Melrose and was a graduate of Ft. Lauderdale High School in Florida. Following High School, her family moved back to the North Shore. Nancy was a long-time resident of Gloucester, a place that she revered and treasured.
Ms. Amero had been employed at Gorton's Seafood in Gloucester for over 25 years until the time of her retirement in 2012.
Nancy loved living by the ocean and treasured summers spent at Good Harbor Beach with her children and grandchildren. She was truly family focused and devoted to her life to her children and grandchildren. She was a true lover of all animals. From wildlife to her feline companions, to watching Animal Planet on TV, if it had anything to do with animals, she was enthralled. She truly had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She relished time spent with her family playing board games and cards and was justly content when surrounded by those she loved.
In 2012, Nancy moved to Swampscott to live with her daughter, Wendy and daughter in law, Rosmary, who provided amazing love and care for her in her final years.
She will be forever remembered and always missed.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Wendy Creighton of Swampscott and Dianne Ng of New York, her daughter-in-law, Rosmary Amero and her son, Alex of Swampscott, her grandchildren, Christine, Rachael, Doreen and Wayne Ng, Mackenzie and Michael Creighton and Daniel and David Coll, her great grandchildren, Charlie, Shinji, Samuel, Claire and Arya, her brother, Stephen M. Beckett and his wife, Debbie of Canton, GA and her nephew, Stephen Beckett II. She was the mother of the late Cynthia Coll.
