DANVERS - Patricia (Patsy) Josephine Cook, 89 of Danvers, wife of C. Dexter Cook, passed away peacefully on May 20th, 2024. Born in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland on March 27th, 1935, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Molly (Finglas) Smith.

Patsy had seven sisters and two brothers. She was educated by the Sisters of the Presentation and later attended the Innoxa School of Electrology in London, England. Between the age of 11 and 13, while at primary school, Patsy sang seconds in a trio along with classmates Moira McGuinness and Phyllis King. They won 12 medals in the Irish Feis competitions.

Patsy came to America in 1960 and lived with her aunt Rose (Smith) Begin of Danvers. There she met and married Dexter in 1962. Her hobby was solving math problems and Mind Bender puzzles from the Irish Newspapers. She couldn't rest until she worked out the answers.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Dexter, son, Declan and Paul Tremblay of Deming, New Mexico, daughter, Maria of Beverly and Paul Robertson, daughter, Deirdre and Michael Fennelly of Warren, Vermont, and son, Shane and Jennifer Cook of Dracut. Her grandchildren include Maeve, Ian, Andrew and Olivia Robertson, Evan, Colin and Annie Fennelly, and Jayden, Kiara and Brody Cook, for whom her house served as a second home, complete with homemade beef stew every Tuesday night and plenty of toast with butter.
