IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia A.
"Pat" "Paddy" (Hawkins) Andreliunas
January 19, 1933 – June 5, 2024
Formerly of Royalston & Westford, MA - Our lovely Patricia passed away on June 5th, 2024. She was the adoring wife of Vyto "Andy" Andreliunas and loving mother to David (d.1965), John Andreliunas, Julie Villagran, Amy Donegan, and Kristy Warner, dearest Nana to David and James Donegan, Jonas Warner, and Beck Andreliunas, and treasured mother-in-law to Robert Donegan Jr., Tito Villagran, Michael Warner, and William Heespelink.
Born to Muriel and Harry Hawkins in Brantford, Ontario, she was the youngest of six children. Her eldest brother Bud (Arthur) was killed fighting alongside the British 8th in WW 2. She is predeceased also by her brothers Bill and Jack, and her sisters Margie and Mary.
A graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in London, Ontario, Paddy made her way to San Francisco in 1955 to St. Francis Memorial Hospital. One evening, her dazzling smile caught the eye of a handsome young GI who would forever be her sweetheart. Paddy and Andy were married in Montreál in 1957. This April marked their 67th anniversary and their mutual devotion never ebbed.
While quintessentially Canadian in her kindness and manners, she was also feisty and fun. Paddy and Andy hosted countless parties with cherished friends in Westford and Royalston. The holidays were particularly memorable, and every Christmas Eve was a rollicking open house for friends and neighbors.
Paddy was well-informed and politically active. She helped establish the Westford chapter of the League of Women Voters and served as an officer. In Royalston, she contributed to the community as a member of the Arts Council and as an avid supporter of the public library. She also helped out with countless town celebrations, was generous with her time and had a tender heart for those in need.
Knowing her fondness for historical places and old houses, it was fitting she and Andy purchased the Royalston house (built c. 1780), which they painstakingly restored and beautified. There was no room or corner of any garden that she couldn't make more delightful. Our family had so many wonderful times together out at "the farm."
Our sister Julie cared for our mother lovingly and tirelessly over the past decade as Alzheimer's took away her proud independence. It was because of the care from Julie and our father that Paddy was able to pass her final years peacefully at home surrounded by love.
