IPSWICH – Ms. Patricia Louise Shaw, 83, of Ipswich died peacefully February 8 th , 2021 at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Louis E. and Eileen (Murray) Shaw. She was raised and educated in Beverly and attended St. Mary's Grammar School and St. Mary's High School in Beverly. She furthered her education at St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, earning her Nursing Degree. She continued her education at Emmanuel College, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a lifelong learner and attended Harvard Extension School later in life.

A Registered Nurse, Ms. Shaw began her nursing career at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton where she had worked for six years. She matriculated to Beverly Hospital, where she worked for over 32 years until the time of her retirement in 1996. She was known for her care and concern for her patients.

A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Pat treasured her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her time reading and gardening. She was an avid traveler and relished her trips to Ireland. As a young woman, she was a member of the St. Mary's Drum and Bugle Corps. Above all else, family always came first and she was ultimately proud of all of her children and grandchildren.

Pat endeared herself to many. She had many lifelong friends and especially enjoyed her many luncheons with the St. Mary's "Homies", who meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Ywuc and her husband, Joseph of Beverly, Suzanne Scanlon of Dedham and Elissa Clifton of Ipswich, her son, George Browning and his long-time companion, Debbie McLaughlin of Gloucester, her grandchildren, Jessica, Julie, Sean, Lyndsay, Jennifer, Joshua and Nicholas, her great grandchildren, Timothy and Logan, her brother, Robert M. Shaw of Beverly and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Mollie Scanlon and sister of the late Rosemary Murphy.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Patricia's life which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday May 28th at 11 A.M.. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Pat's memory to Beverly Bootstraps, 35 Park St., Beverly, MA 01915.
