IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick W.
Mccarran
October 28, 1951 – January 10, 2023
BEVERLY - Patrick W. McCarran of Beverly passed away Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington after a lengthy illness. Born in Salem, he was the son of William R. McCarran and Cecile (Desjardins) McCarran. Patrick was the husband of Debra (Eaton) McCarran.
Patrick was raised and educated in Salem, where he attended Saint Anne's Catholic School. He graduated high school in 1969 from St. John's Prep in Danvers. After graduation, he went on to continue his education at Salem State College. He was employed with the U.S Postal Service in Salem for 37 years. After his retirement, he was employed by the Beverly Public Schools as a bus driver.
Family was everything to Pat, he supported them in everything they did. Including traveling all over the Northeast with his brother Bill to see their youngest brother, Joey, play hockey for Salem High and Boston College. Later, he cheered on his own sons Sean and Steven while they played hockey, baseball and soccer. Pat's love for sports and community led him to coach for Salem's pony league as his dad had done years before. Pat and his brother Rich coached the Wrens for many years together.
In 1987, Pat, Debbie and Sean took a trip to Tennessee to visit his brother Michael. It was a great time spending a week with Mike and his family, while visiting many attractions that Tennessee had to offer. Pat enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Red Sox, Bruins and, of course, the Celtics. Most importantly, he enjoyed being with his family. His wife, his two sons and, later in life, his daughter-in-law and his two grandchildren. Patrick was grateful for his daughter-in-law Dena. He loved her like she was his daughter. He was a true family man.
In addition to his wife Debbie, Patrick is survived by his son, Sean P. McCarran, his wife, Dena (Rando) McCarran of Beverly, along with his grandchildren, Julian and Winnie McCarran. Brothers-Rich McCarran and wife, Sheila, Bill McCarran and wife, Cheryl, Michael McCarran and wife, Paula and Joe McCarran and wife, Debbie Van Etten. Uncle and Godfather-Gus Desjardins. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patrick was preceded in death by his loving son, Steven W. McCarran, who has been missed very much. Pat and his buddy Steven are together now.
