Carro
July 5, 1944 – June 30, 2021
SALEM – Mr. Paul J. Carro, 76, of Salem, died peacefully Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody.
Born in Ayer, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine (Grasso) Carro. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem Vocational School.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was tremendously proud of his service to his country.
Mr. Carro had been employed as an Electronics Switch Board Operator at the former South Station Power Plant in Salem for many years until the time of his retirement in 2007.
A well-known resident of the City of Salem, Paul was a longtime, active member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans – P.L.A.V. Paul's true passion was travel and he did so extensively. From Shri Lanka to Safari in Africa, to visiting many of the European nations, he ventured around the globe; loving every moment. Upon his return home, he always regaled with stories of his travels abroad. Paul's devotion to his friends and family was paramount in his life and he was at his happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He will be deeply missed.
Paul is survived by his siblings, Angela Carro of Chelsea, Peter Carro and his wife, Barbara of Lawrence, Joseph Carro and his wife, Julie of King George, VA and Philip Carro of Salem and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Wednesday, July 7 th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Tuesday, July 6 th from 4 to 8 P.M.
