GLOUCESTER – Paul William L’Heureux, 76, of Gloucester, formerly of Salem, beloved husband of Joanne (Harding) L’Heureux, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026 in Beverly. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Lucien L’Heureux and Lucille (Bouchard) Le’Francois.

Paul was raised and educated in Salem and spent his career serving others through his work at both Tewksbury State Hospital and the Danvers State Hospital. A gentle soul with a deep love for animals, he was especially devoted to his dogs, Buddy and Jake. Paul most cherished the time he spent with his family, particularly the close bond he shared with his sister and brother-in-law. He also enjoyed relaxing with a good football game, finding joy in the simple moments that brought him peace.

In addition to his parents, Paul is predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Beattie and her husband Alfred.

Paul is survived by his wife, Joanne (Harding) L’Heureux of Gloucester, his step-sons, Scott Merchant and his wife Karen of Gloucester, and Darren Merchant and his wife Lisa of Gloucester, his step-daughter, Dawn Merklin of Alabama, his nephews, Mark Beattie of Maine and Michael Beattie of New Hampshire, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: Services for Paul will take place at a later date. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O’Donnell Cremations-Funerals-Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq, SALEM.
