SALEM - Mr. Paul Cazzara Parsons 51, of Salem, beloved husband of Laura Jean (Pelosi) Parsons, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Albert and Dolores (Cazzara) Parsons. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1985. Following High School graduation, Paul enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, having been stationed at Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point and was a disabled combat veteran of Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm.

Following his service to his country, Mr. Parsons had been employed as a Respiratory Therapist and more recently became a cross country truck driver until the time of his illness.

Paul was active in civic and veteran's organizations. He was a member of American Legion Post 153 of Peabody, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Fidelity Post 1011 of Peabody and the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 31. For many years Paul dedicated his time and efforts to Toys for Tots. He took great pride and found great joy in being able to help others.

2015 was a wonderful and exciting year for Paul, he found his new profession and more importantly found the love of his life in re-connecting with his Salem High School sweet heart, Laura Jean finding a new purpose for life, they enjoyed every moment together and were inseparable.

Paul is survived by his loving wife and care giver, Laura Jean (Pelosi) Parsons, Esq. of Salem, his children, Joshua E. Callahan, U.S.M.C and his wife Tracy of Massachusetts and North Carolina, Anthony Parsons and his wife LaDonna of Hubert, N.C., Megan Parsons of Jacksonville, N.C., Ashley Dougherty and her husband Michael of Ipswich and Jeremy Callahan of Salem, his grandchildren, Raiden Stanton, Logan Fowler and Charlotte and Mathew Dougherty, his sisters, Pamela Schaejbe of Salem and Debbie Lord of Salem, several nieces and nephews, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John J. Pelosi Sr and Judith of Salem, his brother-in-laws, John J. Pelosi Jr and his companion Amanda of Aurora, CO, Angelo Pelosi and his Wife Gail of Methuen, several nieces and nephews and his fellow USMC veterans. Paul was predeceased by his brother Timothy Parsons.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Saturday, July 28th at 10 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours Friday, July 27th from 4 to 8 P.M.
