SALEM – Paul Piemonte, 69, of Salem, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, in Wilmington, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship, warm hospitality, and deep love for his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Dennise (Cleary) Piemonte and the son of the late Joseph and Kay (Kirchmier) Piemonte.

Born and raised in Salem, Paul graduated from Salem High School in 1976 and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Daniel Webster College. Throughout his career in manufacturing and as a skilled boatsmith, Paul worked with his hands and a builder's eye. His passion for woodworking shone brightest in his marine carpentry and in the care he poured into rebuilding his first home in Peabody. He was always there when someone in the family needed a true craftsman to help with their latest home improvement project.

Paul’s creativity extended far beyond carpentry. He was a talented musician who filled the room with music on the banjo and trumpet, and a passionate home cook who expressed his love through food. Nothing brought him greater joy than gathering loved ones around the table for a meal he had prepared. Blessed with a natural warmth and quick conversation, Paul made friends easily and made everyone around him feel instantly at home. Above all, his greatest devotion was always to his family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dennise; his parents; and his brother, Peter Piemonte.

Paul’s memory will be cherished by his son, Joseph Piemonte and his wife Michaela of Salem; his sisters, Mary Douglas Harrington and Cathy Wilkins; his brothers, Mark Piemonte and Kurt Piemonte; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and his granddogs Caddie & Buffett.
