DANVERS - Mr. Peter Michael D'Arrigo 66, of Danvers, beloved husband of Nancy Hamilton (Brown) D'Arrigo, died December 21, 2018 following a courageous battle with many illnesses. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Joseph and Celeste (Couture) D'Arrigo. He was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of the former St. Peter's High School in Gloucester, Class of 1972. He continued his education at the University of Massachusetts-Boston earning his Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Mr. D'Arrigo was astute with numbers, finances and budgeting. As a young man he began his career in project management and construction operations at Tufts University. He continued working with higher educational institutions at Facilities Resource Management, working on projects with Vassar College, Norwich University, the University of St. Thomas, and many others. Most recently he had been the Director of Facilities Maintenance and Construction at Phillips Academy in Andover. He oversaw, with great acumen and precision, the construction of many new academic buildings. He excelled in the budgeting portion of construction and facilities management and was highly sought after for his ability to almost always come in under budget and on time with his projects. He was greatly respected throughout his field. A highly intelligent and creative man, Peter was a semi-professional photographer even in his disabled state. He was methodical with every detail. His creativity was astounding and his eye remarkable. He loved to share his artistic work with his family and friends. A strong will and love of life was what defined Peter. He battled valiantly through a course of many illnesses including 9 years of Kidney dialysis prior to a successful transplant, and more recently multiple sclerosis. He was a picture of courage and strength for his family. He loved life and fought to enjoy every day. He will be deeply missed.
