June 14, 1965 – December 23, 2022
MIDDLETON – Mr. Peter Gaudet Laffy 57, of Middleton, died peacefully, on December 23, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marianne (Thurnall) Laffy. Peter was the victim of an automobile accident at the tender age of 3 years old. The injuries sustained from being hit by a car created great physical obstacles during his life, yet all the while, Peter's spirit and true identity shown through. He was easy to smile, quick to laugh and always full of love for others.
Mr. Laffy was an active member of the Shore Collaborative Day Program of Peabody for many years. He had many passions in life from horseback riding and swimming; to listening to music, especially his favorite genre, Reggae music, Peter was truly a happy person. He had a brilliant personality, always joyful and had an ever-present smile on his face. He relished time spent with family and friends.
Peter was a resident of the Northeast Arc Middleton home for over 20 years and forged many life long friendships. His Shore Collaborative and Northeast Arc housemates were truly an extension of his family and they cared for him greatly. He will be greatly missed.
Peter is survived by his siblings, Glenn Laffy and his wife, Melanie of Farwell, MI, Kurt Laffy of Jacksonville, Fl, Monique Freeley and her husband, James of Woburn, Suzanne Deceglia and her husband, Marc of Tampa, Fl, Paul Laffy and his wife, Gosia of NY, NY, John Laffy and his wife, Sheila of Danvers and Philip Laffy and his wife, Alex of Salem and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He also leaves behind his many caregivers and friends from Northeast Arc and Shore Collaborative.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS, Friday, January 6th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Visiting hours prior to the service from 9 to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Peter's name to Northeast Arc, 1 Southside Rd., Danvers, MA 01923.
