SALEM – Mr. Peter Michael Ronan, 76 of Salem, loving husband of Carolyn A. (Harvey) Ronan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family by his side.
Born in Salem, Peter was the son of the late Edward "Hawk" and Virginia (Hall) Ronan. Raised and educated in Salem, he was a graduate of Salem High School.
A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, Peter joined the fire department at the young age of 24 and proudly served his city as a Firefighter. He devoted over 33 years to the community, retiring from the Salem Fire Department as a Lieutenant.
A loving family man, Peter cherished the time he spent with his loving wife, children and extended family. He loved being outside, playing a round of golf and enjoyed watching all sports, especially football, baseball and basketball. He was a longtime member of the AOH - Division 18 in Salem for 55 years and truly enjoyed the many friendships he shared throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife Carolyn, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage, Peter is survived by his children, Kimbley Ronan of Peabody, Patty Ronan of CA, Lisa and husband, Glenn White of Peabody, Joseph Collins of Lynn and Michelle Fobert of NH and sister-in law, Kathy Harvey of Danvers. He also leaves his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Eon of Salem and Kay Harrington of NH and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Peter Ronan, Jr. and brother of the late Joanne "Toby", James, Joseph, Edward "Hawk" and Wayne.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of Peter's life will be held at the A.O.H., 104 Boston St., Salem on Saturday, February 26th from 2 to 6 P.M. Family and friends are all welcome. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St., (Suite B-102) Danvers, MA 01923.
