Phyllis B. (O'Rourke) Harvey

GLOUCESTER - Mrs. Phyllis B. (O'Rourke) Harvey 87, of Gloucester, formerly of Beverly, a retired registered nurse, wife of Charles Albert Harvey, died Sunday afternoon at Beverly Hospital.

Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Catherine M. (Shay) O'Rourke. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School Class of 1941. She earned her Registered Nursing Degree from the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1945. Mrs. Harvey had been a registered nurse on the North Shore until the time of her retirement. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

Phyllis has resided in Beverly for most of her life before moving to Gloucester in 1995. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church in Gloucester and was an active member of the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

In addition to her husband, with whom she shared sixty four years of marriage, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia J. Harvey of Gloucester, Joanne and Richard Gibbs of Gloucester and Carol and Dennis Wilson of Magnolia, her daughter-in-law, Whitney Harvey of Portland, ME, her grandchildren, R.J., Amanda, Lauren and Ryan Gibbs, Christopher, Laura and Nicholas Sparaco, John and Charlotte Harvey and Benjamin Wilson and two great grandchildren, Maximus S. Aimes and Bria M. Gibbs, her two sisters, Kathleen M. Sherry of Danvers and Elizabeth Burns of Grand Rapids, Michigan, several nieces and nephews, her cherished sister-in-law, Patricia O'Rourke of Danvers. She was also the mother of the late Atty. Charles A. Harvey and grandmother of the late Lisa Sparaco and sister of the late Daniel F. O'Rourke Jr., Jayne Gaffney and Nancy Trevisan.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Memorial Service will be held in Our Lady of Good Voyage in Gloucester, at a later date. Burial will be private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem. As requested there are no visiting hours.
