PEABODY – Mr. Porfirio Abreu Peralta, 83, of Peabody, beloved husband of Adelisa Duran, died peacefully, February 18th, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, he was raised and educated in Santo Domingo, D.R. Porfirio immigrated to the United States in 1994, settling in Peabody with his family and making it his new home.
A hard working gentleman, he had worked in the agricultural industry for many years until the time of his retirement.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Porfirio was devoted to his faith in the Lord. Family and faith were always at the center of his life.
An avid and excellent domino’s player, not many could compete with him. He loved music and would often play his Tambora for others. He was happiest when surrounded by his family. He will be forever missed.
Porfiro is survived by his wife Adelisa Duran, his children, Belkis Abreu, Juana “Arelis” Abreu, Ramona (Jovanny” Abreu, Porfiro Antonio “Edwar” Abreu and Henry Abreu, his 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many brothers and nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Chestnut St., Peabody, Wednesday, Feb. 25th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours at O'Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Square, (at Salem Common) SALEM, Tuesday, Feb. 24th from 4 to 7 P.M. PEABODY – El Sr. Porfirio Abreu Peralta, 83, de Peabody, amado esposo de Adelisa Durán, falleció en paz el 18 de febrero de 2026 en su hogar, rodeado de su querida familia.
Nacido en Jarabacoa, República Dominicana, se crio y educó en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. Porfirio emigró a Estados Unidos en 1994, estableciéndose en Peabody con su familia, convirtiéndola en su nuevo hogar.
Un hombre trabajador, trabajó en la industria agrícola durante muchos años hasta su jubilación.

Amado esposo, padre y abuelo, Porfirio era un hombre devoto de su fe en el Señor. La familia y la fe siempre fueron el centro de su vida.
Un ávido y excelente jugador de dominó; pocos podían competir con él. Amaba la música y solía tocar su tambora para los demás. Era más feliz cuando estaba rodeado de su familia. Lo extrañaremos por siempre.
A Porfiro le sobreviven su esposa Adelisa Durán, sus hijos Belkis Abreu, Juana “Arelis” Abreu, Ramona (Jovanny” Abreu), Porfiro Antonio “Edwar” Abreu y Henry Abreu, sus 17 nietos y dos bisnietos y muchos hermanos y sobrinos y sobrinas.
ARREGLOS: Su funeral se celebrará en la Iglesia de San Juan Bautista, Chestnut St., Peabody, el miércoles 25 de febrero a las 10:00 a. m. Se invita a familiares y amigos. El entierro se realizará en el Cementerio Cedar Grove, Peabody.
