BEVERLY – Ralph F. Berry, 88, beloved husband of the late Theresa (Beaulieu) Berry, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, in Beverly.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Russell and Victoria (Karshik) Berry. He was raised in Salem, where he spent much of his life.
Ralph worked for many years at Lloyd Laboratories before joining Salem State University, where he served as a materials manager until his retirement. He took great pride in his years at Salem State.
Outside of work, Ralph had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed keeping busy. For many years, he sold at local flea markets, where he enjoyed the conversations as much as the business. He also helped his wife, Theresa, with her store, Berry's Gifts in Beverly. Photography was another interest, particularly photographing ships.
Ralph had a kind heart, an easy smile, and a way of finding something to enjoy no matter what the day brought. He enjoyed playing poker, taking trips to Foxwoods, and listening to music, and could often be heard singing a familiar tune. Christmas was his favorite holiday, and he never lost his enthusiasm for it. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Ralph was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Theresa (Beaulieu) Berry; his parents, Russell and Victoria (Karshik) Berry; his brother, Robert P. Berry; and his sister, Barbara Mahoney.
He is survived by his daughters, Jean Martin, wife of the late John Martin, of Salem, Linda LeBlanc and her husband George of Lynn, MA, and Diane Dewing and her husband James of Manchester, NH; and his son, John Skelley and his wife Patricia of Palm Bay, FL. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Frank Perley III, Kristina Perley, Deidra Scott, Shane Martin, Matthew, David, Christopher and Amanda LeBlanc, and Jake and Jennifer Dewing; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Jeffrey Partaledis and Aiden Scott; his nieces, Joanne Berry and Robin Berry; and many extended family members and friends.
