SALEM – Mr. Ramon Antonio Rodriguez, 103, of Salem, beloved husband of the late Ana (Suero) Rodriguez, died peacefully, Monday, June 22nd, 2026 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Domingo Olivo and Altagracia Rodriguez. He was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States in 1988 settling in New York. He moved to Salem in 2001 and made his forever home.

Mr. Rodriguez had been employed as a clerk in grocery stores and in the shopping and transportation industry until the time of his retirement.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Ramon loved his family very deeply. He was a passionate baseball fan. As an avid New York Yankee fan, he rarely missed watching a game on television. His love of baseball began while living in the Dominican Republic as he was an ardent supporter of the Aguilas Cibaenas throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Ramon is survived by his 9 children, Alejandro Rodriguez, Carmen Rodriguez, Ramon Andres Rodriguez, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, Juan Jose Rodriguez, Matilda de la Cruz, Felix Ottenwalder, Alexis Rodriguez and Brigida Rodriguez, his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings, nieces, nephews and entire family. He was the father of the late Miguel, Angela and Elsa.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Monday, June 29th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. SALEM – El Sr. Ramón Antonio Rodríguez, de 103 años y residente de Salem, amado esposo de la fallecida Ana (Suero) Rodríguez, falleció pacíficamente el lunes 22 de junio de 2026 en su hogar, rodeado de su familia.

Nacido en Santiago, República Dominicana, era hijo de los fallecidos Domingo Olivo y Altagracia Rodríguez. Creció y se educó en la República Dominicana, y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1988, estableciéndose inicialmente en Nueva York. Se mudó a Salem en el año 2001, lugar donde fijó su residencia definitiva.

El Sr. Rodríguez trabajó como empleado en tiendas de comestibles y en el sector de transporte y envíos hasta el momento de su jubilación.

Como esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo cariñoso, Ramón amaba profundamente a su familia. Era un apasionado aficionado al béisbol. Como ferviente seguidor de los Yankees de Nueva York, rara vez se perdía un partido por televisión. Su amor por el béisbol surgió durante su estancia en la República Dominicana, ya que fue un seguidor incondicional de las Águilas Cibaeñas a lo largo de toda su vida. Será profundamente extrañado y siempre recordado.

A Ramón le sobreviven sus 9 hijos: Alejandro Rodríguez, Carmen Rodríguez, Ramón Andrés Rodríguez, José Antonio Rodríguez, Juan José Rodríguez, Matilda de la Cruz, Félix Ottenwalder, Alexis Rodríguez y Brígida Rodríguez; así como sus numerosos nietos, bisnietos, hermanos, sobrinos y toda su familia. Fue padre de los fallecidos Miguel, Ángela y Elsa.

DETALLES DEL SERVICIO: La misa funeral se celebrará en la iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción (Immaculate Conception Church), situada en Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, el lunes 29 de junio a las 10:00 a. m. Se invita a familiares y amigos a asistir. El sepelio tendrá lugar en el cementerio Greenlawn de Salem. El velatorio se llevará a cabo en O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, ubicado en 84 Washington Sq.
