SALEM - Mr. Raymond C. Hincman 88, of Salem, beloved husband of the late Pauline M. (Zawacka) Hincman, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 7th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Stanley and Anna (Lojko) Hincman. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Hincman proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korea and Vietnam era.
Following his discharge from the Navy, Ray went to work at the leather factories as so many men did following the war. He was a machinist by trade and ultimately went to work for Sylvania where he remained for over 40 years until the time of his retirement. Following his retirement, he was Assistant Salem Harbor Master for many years and worked for the Salem Council on Aging as a bus driver.
Devoted to his family and faith, Ray was a hands-on Dad and often had one of his sons in tow. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and involved in their many activities and proud of his children's, grandchildren's, great-grandchildren's many accomplishments. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed the wonder of nature. Ray liked to hunt and fish and appreciated the camaraderie of family and friends during these activities. He spent many years on Salem Harbor and Lake Ossipee fishing and hunting in the mountains. Ray liked working with his hands in his spare time, especially woodworking and was a boat builder as a young man
A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, Ray was an active member of St. John the Baptist Polish Church where he and his wife Pauline attended weekly Mass and was also a member of the former Crow II Club of Salem. Ray was a kind, happy go lucky man who will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his devoted family and many friends.
Surviving Ray are his sons, Michael Hincman and his f iance Judith Vanglist of Salem, Thomas Hincman and his wife, Lorie of Brandon, FL, and Jeffery Hincman and his wife, Danielle of Lynn, his granddaughters, Stephanie Nunnelly and her husband, Daniel, Kaliegh Hincman, Jaimee Schaffer and her husband, Matthew, Kierra Hincman and Jenna Hincman, his great-grandchildren, Adeline and Clara Nunnelly and Nolan Raymond Schaffer.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service which will be held in O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Monday, November 14th at 10 A.M. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Sunday, November 13th from 2 to 5 P.M.
