Our beloved Rena Aldina Centeio, 21 of Malden passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 25th, 2025 in Texas.
Born in Brighton, Massachusetts, Rena was the daughter of Maria Cosma and Francisco Centeio. She was raised and educated in Malden, where she made many long time friends and enjoyed being a team player at Malden High School Varsity Teams. Rena graduated from high school in 2022.
Following her high school graduation, Rena enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served her country as a Navy Medic for the last two years until her honorable discharge. She traveled extensively while in service of her country including Maryland, Virginia and Texas.
She moved to Texas in May of 2025 to start a new chapter in her life attending college there to get her associate's degree in science and then she was planning on transferring to a university for her bachelors.
Rena loved animals and her two cats were always with her. She also enjoyed traveling and visited many countries during her life including France, Thailand, England, Greece and Cyprus. She spent most of her summers growing up in Cyprus.
Rena is survived by her loving mother, Maria Cosma of Malden and her half sibling, Aphia Mason of Michigan. In addition to her father Francisco, Rena was predeceased by her beloved grandmother, (yiayia), Rena Kosma who was a huge part in Rena's life and helped to raise her. They had a unique and special connection.
A beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend, Rena loved hanging out with her closest friends and was a true and kind soul who loved to help others. Outgoing and social she made friends easily. Her kindness will live on in all the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Rena's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Monday, September 8th at 11 A.M. Her burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, September 7th from 2 to 5 P.M.
