SALEM – Mr. Robert William "Bob" Baldwin, 86 of Salem, loving husband of the late Ann (Zambouras) Baldwin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Salem Hospital.
Born in Lynn, Bob was the son of the late Albert and Helen (Roche) Baldwin. He was raised and educated in Lynn, graduating from Lynn English. Immediately upon his high school graduation, Bob enlisted into the United States Army and proudly served his country overseas in Germany working as a base medic. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Bob attended Salem State College where he received his bachelor's degree in business education and continued his education at Suffolk University where he received his master's degree in business education.
Bob embarked on a lengthy career in Education where he taught for over 30 years at Eastern Junior High School/Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Lynn. For decades he taught the young minds of the community in the subjects of Business Mathematics and English. His passion for learning reflected in his every day encounters with students, he absolutely loved teaching and enriching other lives.
His true love however, was his beloved wife, Ann. They met as young teachers at Eastern Junior High School and together, would share 48 years of marriage filled with love, laughter and memories. In addition to traveling all over the world with Ann, Bob loved spending his time riding his motorcycle, golfing, observing history, reading and of course learning. Above all else, he loved his family and cherished every memory he spent with his wife, daughter and grandsons. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Leann L. Baldwin and husband, David Bowen of Peabody, his two grandsons, Joel R. Baldwin of Salem, and Theodore J. Baldwin-Bowen of Peabody, his sisters-in-law, Cathy Sweazey of Newburyport and Jan Morgan and her husband, Tom of Pepperell, and his nephews, Eric Morgan of Harvard, and Tom Morgan of Stow.
ARRANGEMENTS: At Bob's request, all services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM.
