Obituary

ROWLEY - Mr. Robert D. "Bob" Herrick 80, of Rowley, formerly of Wenham, beloved husband of Karen (Quimby) Herrick, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February, 25th, 2025 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington with his loving family by his side.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Carmon and Mary (Haskel) Herrick. He was raised and educated in Wenham and was a graduate of Hamilton-Wenham High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War receiving several medals and commendations for his brave service.

Bob embarked on a long and successful career in Maintenance working for the Wenham Housing Authority for over 27 years. A true "Jack-of-all-trades" he was well suited for his job as there was nothing he couldn't, fix or build. Bob took great pride in ensuring that every project was completed to the highest standard, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the well-being of those he served. For many years Bob and his wife Karen owned and operated the Village Café in Hamilton, and he also worked for the Town of Hamilton. Following his retirement he enjoyed working at the Billy Bo Farm in Rowley. Always giving back to his community, Bob was a volunteer Fire Fighter for the Town of Wenham for many years, he was an active, life-time member of the American Legion, was a member of the Shriners and Masonic Lodge AF & AM of Manchester. He loved being outdoors with his dogs, splitting wood, riding his beloved tractor and taking advantage of all nature had to offer. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving Bob, in addition to his wife, Karen of Rowley, are his children, Faith-anne Herrick of Danvers, Amanda Herrick of Danvers, Frank and his fiancé, Maddelyn of Rowley, his siblings, Carmon Herrick and his wife, Christine of Wenham, Ralph Herrick and his wife, Joanne of VT, William and his wife, Deb of CT, Katherine Scott and her husband, Richard of Amesbury and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Joseph and John Herrick.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Bob's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals- Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10 AM. Burial in Rowley Cemetery. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Monday, March 3rd from 4 to 7 PM.
