"Bobby"

DANVERS - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bobby” House, who passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 23, 1956, Bobby was the beloved husband of Cynthia “Cindy” House for 39 years. He was a devoted father to his two children, Michael House and his wife Adriana, and his daughter Lauren Houle and her husband Max. He was also a proud Grampy to two granddaughters, Layla and Maren, who brought him great joy.

A graduate of Reading Memorial High School, where he was a standout and state-ranked golfer; Bobby then graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Starting his career managing a restaurant in Houston, Bobby then moved back to Boston to become the General Manager of Victoria Station at Pickering Wharf in Salem. After many years and a loyal following, he then transitioned within the food service industry, where he worked for U.S. Foodservice for over 25 years as Vice President of Sales. In recent years, he enjoyed working at Far Corner Golf Course in Boxford. Bobby was a true “people person” and loved to chat. He genuinely enjoyed getting to know people and always found something to talk about with everyone he met.

Bobby had a huge passion for golf, sitting by his pool, skiing, golden retrievers, listening to Bruce Springsteen, traveling, cheering on Boston sports teams, and above all - spending time with his wife, Cindy, and family. Warm memories with his family include summers at Lake Winnisquam and Tucker Pond, Fourth of July celebrations in Narragansett, and winters skiing at Okemo Mountain. Bobby and Cindy loved to travel, and frequently visited Bermuda together. Affectionately known as “The Commissioner,” Bobby organized an annual golf weekend with his close friends and family that carried on for more than twenty years. Another of his favorite annual events was hosting the summer pool party at the “House House,” where family and friends gathered to enjoy laughter and time together.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy House of Danvers; his son Michael House and his wife Adriana House of Effingham, New Hampshire; his daughter Lauren Houle and her husband Max Houle of Beverly; his beloved grandchildren, Layla and Maren; his brother Brian House and his wife Ellen House of Scituate; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Dorothy House of Reading.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Bobby’s visitation which will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Friday, July 31st from 9 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with a ceremony of remembrance to be held immediately following the visitation. Following all services, family and friends are invited to attend Bobby’s celebration of life at the Danversport Yacht Club from 1 PM to 4 PM.

Bobby was a family man and cherished those he loved. His greatest pride in life was being a husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and genuine way he made everyone feel welcome. Though Bobby’s passing is a devastating loss, we find comfort in knowing that his love lives on in the family he cherished so deeply. He will be missed beyond words and forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Marc A. Susi Scholarship Fund c/o Morgan & Morgan, PC, 175 Derby Street, Suite 40, Hingham, MA 02043. Donations can also be made via Venmo.
