SALEM - Mr. Robert S. McDermott 59, of Salem, beloved husband of Linda K. (Trepas) McDermott, died Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Robert R. and Nancy McDermott. He was raised and educated in Oregon, Ohio and was a graduate of Clay high School. He continued his education at the University of Southern California, the Academy - Radio broadcasting School in phoenix, AZ and earned his Respiratory Therapist Degree from Appollo Medical School in Glendale, Arizona. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. McDermott had been employed as a United States Marshall and was a well-known Radio Disc Jockey for many years with Clear Chanel in Denver Colorado. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Robert was an ardent USC football Fan. He was devoted to his family and will be remembered for his outgoing personality and dedication to his family. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Linda K. (Trepas) McDermott of Salem, his daughters, Adrienne McDemott and her husband Shawn of Maryland, Nancy McDermott of Phoenix, AZ and Brandi McDermott of Lynn, his sons, Robert 'Buddy" McDermott of Phoenix, AZ, Troy McDermott of Salem, Todd McDermott of Salem and Curtis McDermott and his wife Candice of Salem, his 12 grandchildren, Rachel, Amber, Destiny Rose, Grace, Brayden, Zach, Rachel, Gabby, Joe Joe, Destiny, Nevaeh and Damion, his siblings, Mickey McDermott, Jeff McDermott, Linda Rife and Carol Lavelle of Toledo, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem, Friday, May 19th at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.. Donations in his memory may be made to The O'Donnell Funeral Home.
