SALEM – Mr. Robert Paul Reddy, died peacefully at age 70 on April 27th, 2022 at Kaplan Family House in Danvers.

Born on June 1st, 1951 to the late Francis Michael and Gloria Marie (Condon) Reddy, he was raised and educated in Salem. He joined the United States Navy just short of graduation from Salem High School. He was very proud when he was awarded his diploma later in his life.

He proudly served his country during the Vietnam conflict and is an honorably discharged United States Navy veteran. During his service on the U.S.S. Enterprise and U.S.S. Ticonderoga, he was an eyewitness to 3 N.A.S.A. splashdowns including Skylab and Apollo 16.

His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid and fantastic storyteller and loved daily walks. He will be remembered for his resilience in the face of adversity, his devotion to his family and country, and his ability to make new friends everywhere. Very proud of his time volunteering at the Center for an Ecology-Based Economy from 2013 to 2019 and at Fare Share Food Co-op from 2019 to 2022, his presence will be missed by his many friends there. He was also a friend to Bill W. for over 30 years. He will be profoundly missed by many.

Robert is survived by his children, Margaret C. Reddy-Duffy and her husband, Sean J. Duffy, Elizabeth A. Reddy and Robert-Bryan Reddy, and their mother, Laurie Livingston-Irwin and her daughter, Rhiannon Loring, his grandchildren, Fiona and Damian Duffy and Alexander and Delilah Reddy, his sisters, Colleen Reddy and Shannon Reddy-Hughes and her husband, Leonard, his brothers, Philip Reddy and his wife, Roberta, and Thomas Reddy, his sisters-in-law, Theresa Reddy and Dianne Reddy, his Godchildren Mary and William Reddy as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also brother to the late Michael, Francis, John and William Reddy.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Peabody, Saturday, May 21 ^st at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem with military honors. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM.
