DANVERS - Roberta Ann (Tuck) Greene, 86, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2024 at the New England Homes for the Deaf in Danvers, MA.

Roberta "Bobbie" was the loving and adoring mother of Beverly Ann Zebrowski and wife of the late Robert Greene. She was the 4th of 5 children, John, Bernice, Lawrence and Paul, born to Edna and Angus Tuck of Dedham MA.  She is survived by her brother Paul Tuck of Sharon, MA.

Roberta was born May 11th, 1938 in Dedham, MA and attended Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, MA and Bryant & Stratton Commercial School in Boston, graduating with honors with a certificate in Mechanical Accounting.  She worked in Boston before she married Marion Zebrowski from RI, where she lived most of her life.  After taking time to raise their daughter, Beverly, she worked for 27 years at Foster Parents Plan/Child Reach in Warwick RI.  She was very active in a number of organizations for the Deaf, including Clarke School Alumni Association, the National and RI Associations for the Deaf, RI Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Providence Club of the Deaf, RI Deaf Seniors- just to name a few.  She used her skills and talents to be the secretary /treasurer of several of these organizations as well as working on a number of committees.  She was a fierce advocate for the rights of deaf people, always saying and signing "DEAF CAN DO!!!"  She also taught sign language in the evenings at the RI School for the Deaf as well as tutoring some of them in her home.  Her students loved her high energy, passion and humor!  She was an excellent teacher and role model for so many.  She loved to play games and socialize with the deaf community where she shared her positive and life-of-the party energy with everyone she met.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass which will be held at St. Peter's Church in Warwick, RI on Monday June 24th, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. The burial will be private.
