Obituary

TOPSFIELD – Roderick F. Connor, 74 of Topsfield passed away peacefully Saturday February 25th at Lahey Hospital in Burlington surrounded by his loving family. Born in Melrose, he was the son of the late Francis and Ann Connor of Topsfield.

Rod was raised in Middleton and graduated from Masconomet Regional Highschool class of 1967 where he played varsity football as a right tackle, as well as being a Cape Ann league all-star.

After high school he joined the National Guard and served for 2 years while also earning his Associates Degree from Northern Essex college in Lawrence.

Rod raised his family with his predeceased former wife Shauna Connor in Topsfield.

With a passion for building and working with his hands he became quite the craftsman and went on to become a master carpenter working more than 30 years in the industry. After retiring he continued to enjoy helping out friends and family with many household projects.

He enjoyed all things outdoors, but fishing and boating were his favorite. His most beloved place was to be with his family on lake Winnipesaukee.

Rod adored his family, especially spending time with his granddaughter Taylor. Sunday dinners were a favorite whether it was watching his favorite sports teams in the Minnesota Vikings and the Boston Bruins, playing darts, or a great game of cribbage. He was always up for a good time.

Rod is survived by his daughters Bridie Murray and her husband Myles of Groveland, Tatum Healey of West Newbury and granddaughter Taylor Murray. Siblings Cheryl Perry and her husband Fred, Francis Connor III, Noell Heckman and her husband Tim. Along with nieces and nephews Kristan Sheffer and her son Kurtis, Lauren Pollard and her husband Lee and daughters Abigail and Alexis, Katelyn Zwart her husband Derek, Matt Heckman and his partner Valerie Naegele, and Brittany Heckman, as well as cousins Julie and Brunson Dodge and many friends

ARRANGEMENTS: There are no services at this time. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Assisting the family with arrangement is O'Donnell – Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St (Rte. 62) DANVERS.
