GROVELAND – Mr. Roger A. Gagnon, 75 of Groveland and the devoted partner of the late Nancy Fraser, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026.
Born in Salem, Roger was the son of the late Roland and Jacqueline (Rawson) Gagnon. He grew up in Peabody, attending school at St. John’s and received his high school education at St. Peter’s High School in Gloucester. He continued his education at Bryant and Stratton College.
Roger embarked on a lengthy professional career with the telephone company which is now known as Verizon where his main focus was HVAC and maintenance. A true fulfilling passion of his where he enjoyed each day at work and the friendships he created in the many years he devoted to the company.
A proud member of the armed forces, Roger enlisted in the United States Navy Seabees and proudly served his nation as a member of the Naval Reserves.
Roger was a beacon of kindness and generosity, devotedly dedicating his life to helping others. He had a knack for fixing things and was always the first to lend a hand, whether it was assisting a friend in need or helping someone move. His joy came from being present with those he loved, and his genuine compassion for others made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Roger's passions extended beyond service to others; he was an avid traveler, relishing every opportunity to cruise to new destinations. His camera was never far from reach, as he loved capturing moments of beauty and joy, each snapshot a reflection of his zest for life. He had an infectious sense of humor that could light up a room, and he cherished the time spent with his nephews and their families, creating memories that will be held dear.
Roger is survived by his siblings, Carol Karolow and her husband, Dr. Wayne Karolow, MD of Danvers, Roland Gagnon, Jr., and his wife, Sheron of Summerfield, FL and Kathi Roach and her husband, James of Leola, AR; his brother-in-law, Austin Graf of Peabody; his beloved nephews, Michael Karolow and his wife, Bethany of Salem, Roger T. Gagnon and his wife, Jacqi of Medfield and Dr. Kevin Gagnon and his wife, Dr. Tracey Gagnon of Acton; great niece and nephews, Raegan, Chayse, Emmett and Quetin. Roger was predeceased by his parents, beloved partner, Nancy and sister, Jacqueline Graf.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Roger’s funeral service which will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Friday, March 6th at 11 A.M. with his burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
