DANVERS – Mr. Roland Harold Knight, 81, loving and devoted husband of Christine (Griffin) Knight, passed away peacefully in their home in Boynton Beach, Fl on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026.

Born in Eastport, Maine on November 8th, 1944. Rolly was the son of the late Stafford and Virginia (Wilson) Knight. Rolly was raised and educated in Danvers, where he attended Danvers High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1962.

An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Knight attended assistant drill sergeant school and served in the 25th infantry division that was deployed to Vietnam, fortunately for Rolly he remained in Hawaii as a drill sergeant.

Professionally, Rolly was a licensed electrician, and partner at Maine Electric Supply in Peabody, Ma. He was a successful entrepreneur and hard worker. During his retirement years, Rolly had been employed as a Roof estimator for US Roofing.

Rolly lived his life filled with adventure, kindness, and love for those around him. He had a passion for traveling and enjoyed exploring new places. He loved riding his motorcycle, spending time at the ocean, gardening and watching movies. Whether on the open road or sitting on the beach, Rolly found joy in life’s simple pleasures.

Above all, Rolly cherished his family and friends. He will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the love he shared with everyone who knew him. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and lasting memories to those fortunate enough to be part of his life.

In addition to his beloved wife, Christine with whom he celebrated 40 beautiful years of marriage, Rolly is survived by his daughters, Laurie Vontzalides and her husband, James of Danvers, Suzanne Knight of Groton and Elaine Wall and her husband, Carl of Rockport, his beloved grandchildren, Caroline and Tess Vontzalides, Zachary, Allison, Molly Loverin and Brittni Bouska and Brendan Wall, his four great grandchildren, his sisters, Mariam Digirolomo and Susan Stewart and her husband, David Stewart, his sister-in-law, Adria Knight and many loved nieces and nephews and extended family in Deer Island, Canada and Eastport, Maine. He was the brother of the late Stafford “Bing” Knight

Rolly’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched, he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS, Wednesday, July 15th from 4 to 7 P.M. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 16th at 11 A.M. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers.
