PEABODY - Rosemae (Blasing-Stockfish) Genett, 92, formerly of Marblehead, loving wife of William Genett (who predeceased her by 2 months), passed away on December 27, 2025, in her home at Brooksby Village, on what would have been her and Bill’s 74th wedding anniversary, after struggling with lung cancer for many months.

Rosemae was raised on a farm in Wisconsin, growing up to be a lover of animals, people, and nature. With strong ethics and a desire to make a loving difference in this world, she pursued many caring occupations: nurse’s aide, a mother of 3, and then, after graduating COTA schooling at age 50, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Rosemae loved connecting with people, and everyone she knew at Brooksby loved her sweet smile and gentle voice, her compassion, and her ability to empathize—with both the sadness and joy of each person she met. She was a source of sunshine and love to all, and she will be sorely missed.

Rosemae is also remembered for her many framed oil paintings, countless needlework projects with the Afghan group, and her singing with The Irregulars. She is described as a tried-and-true friend.

Though a fiercely independent and strong woman, she loved and depended on her husband, and they were an endearing and enduring couple.

In addition to her parents, Rosemae is predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Genett, her daughter, Vicki Genett, and one grandchild.

Rosemae is survived by her son, Stephen Genett and his wife Heather of Lawrence, her daughter, Laurie Conlon and her husband Kevin of Lunenburg, and five grandchildren.

One of Rosemae’s favorite quotes: “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle, or the mirror that reflects it.”
